Paradise Bay – You have the chance to make camp here like a true polar explorer (but with a better tent), enjoying a supreme overnight Antarctic adventure.Įrrera Channel – Possible sites in this area include Danco Island and Cuverville Island, but also the lesser known (though equally picturesque) Orne Island and Georges Point on Rongé Island. Neko Harbour – An epic landscape of mammoth glaciers and endless wind-carved snow, Neko Harbour offers opportunities for a Zodiac cruise and landing that afford the closest views of the surrounding alpine peaks. Kayaking, glacier walks, and more ambitious mountaineering trips are the potential activities of this location. There’s also a good chance you’ll encounter humpback and minke whales here, as well as leopard seals. Pléneau & Petermann Islands – If the ice allows it, you can sail through the Lemaire Channel in search of Adélie penguins and blue-eyed shags. Naturally, favorable weather conditions determine the possible activities. We will sail directly to “High Antarctica”, passing the Melchior islands and the Schollaert Channel, between Brabant and Anvers Island. Those who prefer a more relaxed journey have plenty of options, and can utilise the ship’s fleet of zodiacs to explore the rich diversity of wildlife that flourishes in the sheltered bays, and clustered castles of icebergs and steep glaciers that characterise the shoreline. Our vessel will become our floating basecamp, a warm and comfortable haven to return to after adventuring ashore. This program is unique, as it provides the opportunity to explore a pocket of the Peninsula with varied active means, including kayaking, snowshoeing, climbing and zodiac cruising. We will cross the Antarctic Convergence into the Southern Ocean, via the fabled Drake Passage, to explore this remote continent with its spectacular wildlife.
